A Little Girl’s Vanity- Modern Makeover

What little girl wouldn’t want to have a vanity of her own? There is something so grown-up and chic about sitting at a vanity and applying makeup, adorning oneself with jewelry, or simply brushing one’s lovely locks.

My five-year-old is a girly-girl for sure. So, when my sweet neighbor, Debbie,  offered me her old vanity for only $25, I had to jump on the opportunity! With just a little bit of chalk paint, some elbow grease, and fun fabric, the vanity was like new.

I hope this inspires you to bring an old piece of furniture back to life!

Coral & Mint- Girl’s Bedroom

Who doesn’t LOVE mint and coral….especially for a little girl? This color-packed combo is a huge trend in fashion and design. My daughter, Delaney, is a girly-girl, and I knew this color scheme would fit her personality. But making your concept a reality can be tough when you have to find things on a budget.

When I am decorating a space, I always try to find a special piece that inspires the design. For Delaney’s room, the inspiration was these beautiful mint nightstands. I found them on Craigslist for $120 each (already painted and distressed). From there, I chose a vibrant lattice print wallpaper for the accent wall. I searched high and low for a bedspread that would bring it all together. I finally located this quilt at Home Goods for $19.99. They only carried it in a twin size, so I decided to turn it sideways to make it fit the full size bed.
