Teachers’ Luncheons are so much fun to plan! I enjoy coming up with a creative theme each time I am designated to be in charge. For this year’s back to school luncheon, I composed the theme of “Start Your Engines”. The concept was inspired by a stop light found in the aisles of Hobby Lobby. From there, it was easy! I purchased a few checkered flag table clothes, created a sign with the theme, scoured my son’s room for a race car track and we were ready to go.


How cool is this? Our centerpiece was a vibrant orange hot wheels track. The teachers couldn’t help but challenge each other to a race while they ate lunch.



I used plastic table clothes as a backdrop for this eye-catching sign: “Teachers, start your engines!”



This 36″ x 36″ print made a great backdrop for the drinks and desserts.



This stoplight was a show-stopper on the food table.



The Pennzoil can is yet another trinket I borrowed from my son’s room. The can was the perfect place to store our utensils.



Our lunch included delicious pulled pork sandwiches, fresh fruit, and salad.
